1. Simple summary for parents
Stars of Bedtime Stories is a personalised bedtime story app for families.
The App lets parents and guardians create story characters, bedtime stories, images, and narration using information they choose to provide.
The most important points are:
- The App is primarily intended for parents and guardians.
- Children may use the App only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
- We may collect account information, child profile details, uploaded photos, generated characters, generated stories, usage data, analytics data, and payment-related information.
- We only ask for limited child profile information, such as a child’s name, age in years, and approximate birth month. We do not ask for a child’s exact date of birth.
- Original uploaded photos are used temporarily to generate cartoon characters. We do not intend to keep the original uploaded photo after character generation is complete.
- We store the generated cartoon character image, generated stories, and related story content so they can appear in the user’s library.
- We use third-party providers to operate the App, including providers for authentication, AI generation, voice generation, storage, analytics, payments, and app store services.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not provide public social features. Stories and characters are private to the user’s account.

2. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to anyone who uses the App, including parents, guardians, and children using the App with permission.
The App is intended for worldwide use. Because privacy laws vary by country, some rights and protections may depend on where you live.

3.1 Account and login information
When you create or use an account, we may process information connected to authentication and account access.
We use third-party authentication providers, including services such as Clerk, Apple Sign In, email login, Google login, and Facebook login.
We may store an account identifier linked to your account so that we can provide your account, credits, subscriptions, generated characters, generated stories, and app library.
Depending on the login method you choose, the authentication provider may process information such as your email address, login identifier, name, or authentication token. The exact information depends on the provider and your chosen login method.
We do not store payment card details.
3.2 Child profile information
During onboarding or story creation, you may provide information about a child, such as:
- child’s first name or nickname;
- age in years;
- approximate birth month;
- story preferences;
- selected characters;
- selected story vibe, theme, or language;
- custom story instructions.
We do not ask for a child’s exact date of birth.
You should avoid entering unnecessary personal details, such as a child’s full legal name, home address, school, phone number, medical details, private family details, or other sensitive information.
3.3 Uploaded photos
The App allows you to upload photos to create cartoon-style story characters.
Uploaded photos may include images of adults, children, family members, friends, or pets.
We use uploaded photos temporarily to generate cartoon character images.
To provide this feature, uploaded photos may be sent to third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI.
We do not intend to retain the original uploaded photo after the character generation process is complete. However, the photo may exist briefly in temporary processing systems, transmission systems, or technical logs while the request is being processed.
We store the generated cartoon character image so that it can be used in the App.
3.4 Generated characters, stories, images, narration, and library content
We may store content generated through the App, including:
- cartoon character images;
- character names and roles;
- story prompts and story instructions;
- generated bedtime stories;
- generated scene images;
- generated narration or voice content;
- selected language, story vibe, cast, and story preferences;
- library metadata, such as when a story was created or updated.
This allows you to access your characters and stories later.
The App may also cache some content locally on your device to improve performance and allow faster loading.
3.5 Custom prompts and story instructions
If you type custom prompts or story instructions, we process them to generate personalised content.
You should not include sensitive personal information in custom prompts.
We may use automated moderation and safety systems to detect, reject, rewrite, or adjust prompts that appear unsafe, inappropriate, unlawful, or unsuitable for children.
3.6 Purchases, credits, and subscriptions
The App may offer credit bundles and subscriptions.
Purchases may be processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another authorised payment provider.
We may receive and store payment-related records such as:
- product purchased;
- subscription status;
- credit balance;
- transaction identifier;
- purchase date;
- renewal status;
- refund or cancellation status.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
3.7 Analytics, diagnostics, and usage data

We aim to limit the amount of child information collected. For example, we collect age in years and approximate birth month rather than an exact date of birth.
We do not knowingly ask children to provide contact details, home addresses, school details, exact location, medical details, or other sensitive personal information.

7. Photos of children and other people
If you upload a photo of a child or another person, you confirm that you have permission to use that photo in the App.
If the photo shows a child, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have permission from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
We use uploaded photos to generate cartoon character images.
The original uploaded photo is intended to be temporary and is not intended to be stored after character generation is complete.
The generated cartoon character image may be stored in your account until you delete it or delete your account.
8. AI and voice generation providers
The App uses third-party AI and voice providers to generate content.
These providers may include:
- OpenAI, for AI-generated text and images;
- ElevenLabs, for voice and narration features.
When you use AI-powered features, we may send relevant inputs to these providers, such as photos, character information, prompts, story instructions, story text, or narration text.
These providers process information so that the requested generation features can work.
We do not knowingly allow third-party AI providers to use your uploaded photos, child profile information, or generated family story content for advertising to you.
We do not sell your personal information.
9. Other third-party service providers
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the App, including:
- authentication providers;
- cloud hosting and storage providers;
- database providers;
- analytics providers;
- crash reporting providers;
- payment and app store providers;
- AI generation providers;
- voice generation providers;

- security and moderation tools.
These service providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us, support the App, comply with law, or protect security and safety.

10. App stores and payment providers
If you purchase credits or subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play, your purchase is handled by the relevant app store.
Apple or Google may process payment information, purchase history, device information, account information, tax information, and refund information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
We may receive limited purchase information from Apple or Google so that we can provide credits, subscriptions, and premium features.
We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.
11. Analytics and advertising attribution
We may use analytics and attribution tools to understand how users find and use the App, which features are used, whether ads or campaigns are effective, and how to improve the App.
This may include information about installs, app opens, purchases, device type, region, language, app version, crashes, and feature usage.

12. How long we keep information

Original uploaded photos are intended to be temporary and are used only during character generation.
We do not intend to store the original uploaded photo after character generation is complete.
12.2 Generated cartoon characters
Generated cartoon character images are stored so they can be used in your stories and account library.
They remain stored until you delete them, delete your account, or we otherwise remove them according to our Terms and Conditions.
12.3 Generated stories and story content
Generated stories, scene images, narration, and related library content are stored so they can remain available in your account.

12.4 Account and purchase information
Account information, subscription information, credit balances, and transaction records may be kept while your account is active and for as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, support, and platform compliance purposes.
12.5 Support messages
Support messages may be kept for as long as needed to respond to your request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, improve the App, and comply with legal obligations.
12.6 Analytics and technical logs
Analytics, crash logs, and technical logs may be kept for a reasonable period to help us operate, secure, debug, and improve the App.
Where possible, we may aggregate or de-identify analytics information.
13. Deleting your information
You can delete your account in the App where this feature is available.
You can also delete characters and stories from your account.
When you delete a generated character or story, we will remove the relevant stored image or story content from our active systems as soon as reasonably possible after processing the deletion request.
Some limited information may remain temporarily in technical systems, app store records, logs, or records we are required or permitted to keep for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes.
